Step 1. Interview Several Advisers
You need to talk to a few financial advisers before settling on one. Here are some of the questions you need to ask when interview a financial adviser -
- What are the adviser's credentials?
- How many years has the adviser has been in business?
- What services does the adviser offer?
- Is the adviser a fiduciary?
- What specialties does the adviser offer?
- Has the adviser worked with clients like you?
- What is the adviser's minimum investable asset requirement?
- How will the adviser charge you for the service?
- Will the adviser be paid commissions? If yes, on what types of products.
In our next blogpost, we will discuss part 2 - conduct background checks.
