A. There are two ways for a student to start a good credit history:
1. Start with a Student Credit Card
Good options include:
a) Discover it for Students
b) Capital One's Journey Student Rewards.
2. Start with a Secured Credit Card
This is for people with poor or no credit records. You will be required to deposit a few hundreds of dollars into your account first. Good options include:
a) Capital One's Secured MasterCard
b) First Progress Platinum Elite MasterCard.
Once you had your first card, start with small purchases, and make sure you pay your bill on time every month.
After 6 months, start applying for the traditional credit cards, and go from there.
